I love this article because I used to run an arts and crafts program at a middle school after school program and whenever kids were having a bad day they seemed to calm down when they entered the room and started an activity. Also, I never thought art therapists were a thing.

I was very interested in your article because I have a plan to go to graduate school for art therapy. I think art therapy has a great effect on healing our emotions, especially for children who have difficulty expressing their feelings in words.

I liked reading you article but I decided to reply to the questions you asked.. Personally art has helped me a lot with improving my mental health; I always create art when I am too stressed and overwhelmed.I believe art is very therapeutic and I have never heard of anyone disagreeing with that.

I find art very therapeutic because it distracts me from thinking about other problems. It makes me feeel super relaxed and I figure that art is used a therapeutic way for even old ppl. I did a research paper for my Gern 400 class and the old community uses art in a therapeutic way and it helps them a lot . Wonderful article!

yes, art can be therapeutic. I recently took some photos using a large pinhole camera in order to de-stress from Zoom and laptop fatigue. Just standing there waiting for the picture to be done (long exposures, 4-15 minutes) was very calming. I wish becoming an art therapist was easier. Thanks for the article!

As someone who struggles with their mental health, I use art as an outlet to help me get through things. It's like a safe place I can retreat to and work things out myself. Thanks for sharing this - it was very interesting to read!
